The Ngāti Manawa Charitable Trust (NMCT) provides annual charitable grants intended to support, enable and facilitate registered tribal members and approved groups to achieve the following key charitable objectives:

  • Support the advancement of education

  • Strengthen cultural identity, health & wellbeing

The distribution of charitable grants is guided by the Ngāti Manawa Charitable Trust policy, which is reviewed annually to ensure it remains current.  The policy ensures that there is a consistent criteria framework and good practice principles of fairness, clarity and transparency embedded throughout the Distributions process and procedures.
 
Health Grants: - Opens 10 January 2022
Applicants must be Ngāti Manawa and registered with Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Manawa and applies to 18 years and over.
You can only apply once during a 12-month and/or after the approval of a previous successful grant. Applications must be received by the first Wednesday of every month no later than 12-noon.

Documents/uploads required:
1) Invoice supplied from your Health Care provider/ or Service with their bank account number for payment to be made directly.
2) Reimbursement to applicant - a receipt that is no more than 3-months old from your Health Care provider/service. Applicants MUST attach their bank account statement for reimbursement to be made directly.


Education Grants: Opens: Monday 1st February 2022 - Closes: Friday 29 April 2022 at 4 pm
Secondary School: All students are Ngāti Manawa and registered to Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Manawa are enrolled full-time at a secondary school in New Zealand. Secondary applies to Y9 to Y13 students.
Documents/uploads required:
A letter from the School, on a School letterhead that contains the following:
- Confirmed current enrolment of the student
- Students' current year of study
- Subjects undertaken by the student
- Verified bank account of the secondary School

NOTE: To ensure that your application goes forward to the Charitable Trust all required documents must be uploaded before the close-off date to qualify.  Incomplete applications will automatically be rejected and you will be notified.  Please check your email inbox frequently, as our team will send out emails requesting more information. Tertiary Grants: Opens: Monday 1st February 2022 - Closes: Friday 29 April 2022 at 4 pm
All students who are enrolled full or part-time at a New Zealand registered tertiary training institute or an NZQA approved equivalent course that provides study for vocational students.
Applicants must be Ngāti Manawa and registered with Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Manawa.

Applicants documents/uploads required:
  • Confirmation letter of study from a New Zealand registered tertiary training institute or an NZQA approved equivalent course.
  • A fees receipt of study from either Study-Link or a New Zealand registered tertiary training institute or an NZQA approved equivalent course.
  • Applicants' bank account statement and IRD number is a must!
